Forum | Next stop Choke Canyon - 4/17-18

The next ABA District 51 tournament is back on Choke for the last time this year. Last week I banged the bank with a host of others. I was given some GPS coordinates for off-shore structure plus I have some of my own. I didn't even check them out last week as I just didn't think the bass were ready to set up house in 25-40' of water yet. It's only two weeks from the last tournament to the next and I don't see the water temps changing that much. 67-72 or so is what I encountered last time. I figure adding 5 degrees will be just about where the temps will be when we go back. It may be a little warmer than that but I wouldn't anticipate much more than that.

Nobody reported seeing fish on beds or even bare beds last week. There's no doubt some fish have spawned. We had a full moon on our last tournament with water temps conducive to spawing – had to happen I'd think. None of the fish I saw weighed in were beat up or displayed signs of spawing except the one 7#er. From the weights I figure most of'em were male bass anyway.
