Yeah thought might be an issue as company has a statement that it wont any longer bleed due to being sealed.Noticed however after being cut near the knot it is pink, same pretty much with my red fluro.Red fluro, red braid am I seing a pattern, hope not but the sumo bubblegum pink frog will feel at home.

So many mfg make braid in bright colors like yellow etc,why we all arnt blind.I kind of like to hide my line,as much as possible.

And yes like the power pro for that reason, sort of vanishes at lower pd tests.

As for the red fluro was free,as for the red braid just trying something us made, but lord wish it twwas green, brown anything but orange ,yellow or red. They say however red is first to disappear, but would rather camo it than trust that, usage will tell.

Just be careful when you fish that red line.  I know a guy that used red braid and when the color came off the line, it turned his hands and the cork on his rods pink!!!!

About the line issue, man im seeing red.Wanted to try the stuff as made in usa.

Man am I seeing red ,Scarlet Ohara red , lipstick red, think ill always wear shades when in use.

Yup it came in today. 6.97 a spool of 125 yards,2 of 40(12pd diameter) one of 50(14lb diameter).

Although the new rod could take both am putting the 50 on the kistler to use wuth the 1 oz king spro frog, putting 40 on the all star rod as will double as my jig rod,it is a jig-frog combo. With that 7/1 reel it doesnt take long to wind it back and toss to another bush,or target.

It feels right at home pitching and for a med heavy is stouter than normal, yet lighter than my jig rods, yet if no jig bite ants all top action a froggin we will go.

Great rod for a nonboater that will do double duty, when restricted to just a few rods, and for a boater imagine it would be top choice would be in mine.

It tosses a country mile if needed.Yet weight isnt bad.

Thanks I have a spool of 15lb,12 and 10 but will wait for my red cajin 40 lb braid strapping 125 yards on it. 31 in line retrieve with one complete revolution.Bet i could keep a 1/2 oz dbbb on top all the way,but then would look like a very fast but conventional buzzbait.

Ah the reel caught up with the rod,was worried since never seen it that would be large like a saltie, nope, havnt a clue as to usefull the twitchin bar is,40 twitches would probably reel it all the way back in

.For 59 bucks think I got my moneys worth and more. Now just need the line to spool it up and my 1/0 matzuo hooks.

As it turns out built much like the kistler and the carrot stix, more backbone than the med heavy carrot stix and less than the kistler heavy action,to be expected somewhat as a med heavy, but fair amount more than the carrot stix.Which I rate for 4 1/2 pds back in the jungle.Same rating od mine  puts the kistler at 6-7 and this 5-6 pds maybe more coupled with a 7/1 reel instead of a 6/2 or 6/3.

Not heavy or hard on the hand either, just couldnt find a decent bass to test it onthey are on strike for topwater except around pads and early.Early one gets ate up by skeeters and gnats.

Tva sprayers are broke down again, one of the reasons coupled with excess rain as to why so bad this year.

Tva also announced they have no grass removal  program right after they announced they had just finished spraying guntersville and nickajack, while discussing Wheeler and Wilson.

Naturally seperate pages.

Some flats are getting jumps,so topwater should work well there.

Oh boy, some of my stuff came today 1/0 double hooks,1 oz king spro rainforest black-spro popin frog-nasty shad, and my all star 7 ft 2 in jig -frog rod med heavy(teal green),feels heavier action than med heavy much more stuff to it than say the carrot stix, guesssing about as much as my kistler heavy action all most, having a fish on will tell.

Will place a reel I have already on it just to try that bad boy out.As one purchaced for it in 7/1 isnt yet here.

Im done stick a fork in me,one 7 ft 2 in all star frog rod,one diawa megaforce reel,1 pkg of number 1 matzuo weedless hooks, one pkg of 1/0 double hooks,2 spro frogs one king and one a poppin frog,3 spools or red cajin 2 of 40 lb and one 50 lb.

Now if i can just draw a guy that will fish grass at the 2 day event at Paris Landing.

Out of 79 other non boaters came in 47th last one, with that 4.34lb single fish, just have to move up 42 places or so to cut a decent check. Was about 4th or 5th with big fish.

Thanks went to all star web site, that rod is one of the freshwater series with solid handle and telescoping ,my kister is a heavy action while shorter would work and not wear me out.

The rod im going with is then the asr same price but 7 ft 2 in and med heavy, thought about changing the reel to a strikeforce but that megaforce has extras, twitching bar to twitch a frog on the slop for enticing action?????More bearings, even the rod has more guides 1 to be exact and 9 in shorter.

Besides cant see me tossing 2-2 1/2 lb bass as far as he did,and dont flip back in the bushes often, caught mine on the outside after he chased it out,it had hit his and moved back1 bush and out 1.Sweet beavers however do work well for that.

Actually dont know how much it weighs, just for that will do a lil research.

As for cost both the rod and reel for about 135 delivered,if im recalling correctly.

They also make a 7 ft 2 in thats very pretty frog rod and days light, yet only in med heavy and not for jerking 2-3 lb bass into airborne.

Kind expect it to be tad heavier again dont know how much but more of a flipping rod that can also be used frogging.

Definately researching it now.

Weight in a fishing rod becomes very important when you're looking at frog/flipping rods.  I've had several that were just too darned heavy to fish effectively with for any length of time, and when the rod starts to become like a lead weight, it's useless.

That's what I like about the spinnerbait rod and my Citrus Stick frog rod.  Both are light enough that they're not fatiguing to use for extended periods of time.  And both of them are in the $120.00 range.  Surprised

Well adter drawing a flipper, who used an 8 ft rod,set the hook and from 15 ft one side of the boat landed 15 ft over the other side.

Decided to upgrade with a new outfit one that could double not only flipping but frogging since that is primarilly what I do.Didnt see any sence in having a rod suited to one then sitting at home.

Thought of Steves 8 ft he uses for spinnerbaiting, dont know how stout it is and cost range a tad more than what I desired to spend.

So checked out the frog  and combo rods on ebay, two came to my att both all star  as in my price range yet one was light and built like my carrot stix at 7 ft 2 in so flipping no not back in the jungle anyway.

Other rod was heavier (one must have drawbacks) looks more like a flipping jig stick, but a full 7 ft 11 in heavy action fast tip all star, billed as a flipping-frog  combo.

Matching it up with a Diawa Megaforce 9 oz 7/1 reel ,with 65 pd(15 pd mono diameter) cajin red braid(made in the usa).

Dont think its a light combo more like the heavy howlitzer to blast them out when needed.

But still usefull for frogging as well, sort of the heavy gun so to speak.
