Threw it today,on the retrieve they poke in behind that fin,and it looks like a real one scurrying not to be eaten.Just didnt get any iceberg pike to eat it.Harbor had 3 in ice on it,single boat lane open to the mainlake.

Tell ya' what. You take the hooks of the belly of that bait, photoShop away the joints and dang if it couldn't pass for the real thing! Should work well!

I second that,as for the smaller swimbait it is only slightly more so in diameter than a jerkbait, and one of my favorite colors for here, american shad.

The jerkbait here works from now till may, strangely I do not catch a lot of smallmouth on them, largemouth and spots mostly. What smallies do hit tend to be a hair short at 14 -14 1/2 in.

A ten inch spot will hop all over a 5- 6 in jerkbait-go figgure, the bridge pilings will be chock full of ten to 13 in spots soon, the larger ones never seem to school on them havnt a clue why.At the same time keeper largemouth are on them. Not even the smaller jerkbaits produce the smallies, but even more short fish of other species.Biggest problem is getting one unhooked and back in and keeping off the rocks in the mean time with the boat pitching and bucking around all the same time.

Current ,2 1/2 to 3 fters are the norm hole number 4 is hot,one spends however more time in getting in place and getting back to it after catching one than actually tossing in or fishing.

A seat or something to balance and sometimes actually grab are handy, imagine mother nature attempting to mix up the contents of the boat, you have an accurate description then.

From now till april 60,000 cfs or more is going by.As a comparison July is around 22,000 or less.Narrow that down to funneling between the 79 bridge and one has a minature niagra minus the falls.Requiring 70 pds thrust min with a 1500 lb boat to keep in place or possibly gain.

Another reason I like that light Allison it gains with a 72 on it.This is the equivalent of a 4 hp gas outboard.Sort of got off topic but the conditions here will go well with that smaller jerk bait on those same bridge pilings,it will produce.

The 3.5 in american shad has a thickness of a jerkbait it should do well, and even the 4.5 bluegill isnt overly a large bait, a 15 to 16 in bass could actually eat one,it is however more for spawning and fish attempting to kill it than eat it.

But compared to say a rubber strike king version is is much smaller overall.

Impressed with the quality of this bait made in china, very life like and or color patterns.

Well rounding our my arsenal .

4.5 in bluegill, these things should work well up north as well where you have pike and musky.

Ill soon find out ,I won this one as well but had to pay a tad more for it than the jerkbait.

Weighted forward and 3 1/2 in.Could have gone for a larger size but bass seem to like the smaller ones more and stripers hit the larger american shad more than do bass.

Next to be aquirred are the telapia and bluegill for spawners.I have several older naturtal ike crankbaits they would hit but lacked the action these sinking nose first into a nest should trigger a savage killing strike.

Has anyone ever used one of these small 3 1/2 in H20 swimbaits?

Cool
