Yeah, I might have to go check out the bins again. But then again, a friend of mine has pretty much gotten out of fishing. I might just go see what ol' Sparky has and how much he want's for his tackle….

Yeah they have been on sale at mine as well. I also like their clearnace boxes! I have been finding some nice tubes, creatures, etc and few cranks, skitterpops, etc
I like the new stuff they are carrying!

So far, the only "stocking up" I've done is I bought up a bunch of Gamakatsu 5/0 hooks at Walmart. I bought up all the 5's and I might go back and see if there's any 4/0 hooks left.

I tend to fish a fair amount from shore, west of paris in the obion canal swamps there are no boat ramps.
I dont know about shore acess but the steam plat at cumberland city is hot this time of year, might even get an altantic needlefish state record. They are known for liking that area and hug the shore.

I haven't caught anything worth talking about yet, except when I went crappie fishing in the fall and caught a few little LMB and SMB (6-7″). My buddy I fish with who has a boat, will catch them around 14-17 in Cheatham Lake area and the tributaries around there. I mostly shore fish, which is alot harder! I shore fish out of Ashland City area, Brush Creek, which I have had the most bites, then Bluff Creek park and Bull Run Rec Area. Which is why I want to get a truck and then a boat!
But I want to start really working with crankbaits, swimbaits and top water baits, so I will probably be hitting Brush Creek and Bull Run around here more. We also have MarrowBone Lake, which is near me, but you have to pay and is electric only. You can rent a boat and I am thinking about doing that a few times. They also have a stretch of lily pads I wold love to toss some cranks, spinnerbaits and punch into!
Haven't been over to Hickory as it is a bit far and if I head over that way I will be hitting the local quarry to do some scuba diving!

I wish.
This is the bridge over 79 at kentucky lake ,paris landing.
I am curious whats your normal lake Hickory with a bit o cunberland river at ashland as appear to be closer or Barkley. With an 18 smallie min length bet that cuts in hard. Most of what I catch is 14-17 with the 14 if no use, other than a good fight.

Got to admit it is much thicker no longer but thicker, has almost same action when jerked im hoping spring bass will hop on it,if not can always have a musky bait handy. The 4 1/2 isnt to thick yet had no luck in that size with the h20 as swam fine but no side to side jerk action. That minnow series is just like the h20 in looks.
But then again wasnt much bridge action going on last year due to work being done, and that is where I get bit the most on jerkbaits.Need them to finish instead of making their retirement while doing it.

I dunno Lil Mule. That lure looks interesting, but it's going to take one heck of a bass to inhale that thing. I know people use 6″ jerkbaits in the spring and fall, but we're talking a slim minnow design. That lure of yours is anything BUT a "slim minnow." It looks more like some of my spring muskie lures….

Well havnt heard of anyone using hard crankbaits on an a rig, they would tend to tangle a bit.
And be a pia to toss, with back problems later im sure.
And in the state of tn could only place one on unless one removed one set of hooks from each bait. Its three lures three hooks, now with the recent ruling one can have more than 3 but mor than three means but one hook.Since tn counts fake bodies and or spinnerbait blades as a teasett the now bultiple bladed spinnerbaits are legal if just one hook, previously no more than 3 permitted.
Ive also used h20 baits while they look great in the waer havnt been bit on them, very much like the 4 in minnow series in this, but notice I got it in a floater,my h20 is a sinker.
Only sinker i got in these was a slow sinker and due to the floater turnng so well side to side hope it does as good.

As for the king strike king swimbaits have one never caught crap on it as yet,not even a striper.Have 1 in sexy shad id part with as a result.
THAT"s what I want to hear LOL! I have a few in different colors/patterns, even the Sexy Swimmer and Baby Shad, which is more of a wake bait. I read the reviews on BPS and the reviews were good. THere were a couple of issues with the bait breaking in half, but you can send them back for a replacement with a steel pin in the center (That's a novel concept!).
Does anyone use them on a Alabama Rig? It might get too snagged up.

They are a hard bait, called real fish bait-6.5 hard hitch type that in on ebay.
They have great action the floaters swimming its a wake bait ,slow its a topwater bait, jerked its a jerkbait side to side about 1 ft deep max,but definate jerkbait action like a yozuri so wanted a slow sinker as well.As for the king strike king swimbaits have one never caught crap on it as yet,not even a striper.Have 1 in sexy shad id part with as a result.
Spots and largemouth inhale 6 in jerkbaits readily in the spring so why not these, dunno yet but going to try them and cheaper as well.Than the strike king also much better movement as multi segmented. When jerked great flash in that acition. When waked I think of jaws music.
Ill know fairly soon how they do.

Is that a soft or hard swimbait? Looks nice!
I really like the action of the Strike King King Shad swimbaits. I bought them on sale here for 50% off!
http://www.tacklewarehouse.com…..-SKKS.html
Not crazy about the Sexy Swimmers as they seem to have too much action like a snake in the water.
I can't wait to try them out when fish are biting!

Ya'all need to stop with the monkey and get your darned boat fixed! I'll bet you that I can come in to your boat with 4 plano boxes and still catch more bass! Get the boat fixed and concentrate on the basics.

The monkey strikes again have 6 in floater in trout, sort of a duplicate but a lil different,6 1/2 in rainbow trout slow sinker, and a 4 1/2 minow floater all same real fish bait lures.
And looking real serious at a matt lures swimbait rod 8 ft,mayve some change left over after the repairs on the hydrosport lol.
