Ive done well in the ohio river below the dams mostly on white bass and stripers,but in the spring for about 2 weeks would also catch largemouth,on a flat hopkins spoon.
If nothing else one day could always go up to the dam ,and in that swifter water even easier to keep on top and yes they smack the crap out ofem and make a surface splash.
Later in the fall straight up an down jigging gets sauger next to say a concrete wall.

Well, we'll have to give it a try. I've NEVER done well on spoons with the exception of a couple salmon that bit one day…..
I hope you have better luck than I've had…

Got my CBT 4 in ledge spoon ,its not as large as one would think,also is easy to fish shallow due to the lift,be actually better to have a 5 in or even 6 for actual deeper water.
I can actually run it on top if desired.
