three hours one way, from Paris to Gallatin, Tennessee for a gun show. I really want a compact 9mm handgun and thought I could trade my 6.5 x 55mm Swedish Mauser for at least a decent down payment. I've researched these guns online and they've been selling for anywhere between $200 and $500. The handguns I've been looking at are in the $300 – $500 range.
So I pay my ten buck admission fee and wander around the place for five hours, talking with various vendors and other show attendees. I had a couple people look at buying the gun, but the most serious potential buyer also had his wife along, and she nixed the idea of buying another rifle!
One booth did have one of the pistols that I was interested in, but we couldn't come to an agreement. He wanted my Mauser and $150.00 for a pistol that he had priced at $329, which is a whopping four bucks off MSRP! I told him, "I don't think so Sparky," and walked on.
Oh well, it was a nice day for a drive, and I spent the day with a friend, which is always good.
