Yeah, that's pretty much what Janet and I did today too, and probably will tomorrow as well.

Yes I used a similar  study two years ago,it had included the rea from grand rivers, benton ky,lbl and tn.

A closer study of each revealed that tn has no state income tax, personal taxes on vehicles occur but once and havnt see a parking meter as yet.

Ky does have an income tax personal property such as vehicles are paid every year you own them.

Property is actually cheaper in tn near the lake, taxes on same less, think that summed it up.

Median age is about 43,42 at birdsong ,and still 41 at where I 40 meets the river section.

And yeah have grown kinda fond of the place.

Was a nice warm day for a change ,had a fire going (fireplace) all evening and drinking a cup of java.

That was what I was supposed to do wasnt it kick back an relax

I knew Paris, Tennessee was a great place to live and it's now been confirmed.  I was reading an article online published by Yahoo and MarketWatch.com.  This particular article was about the "Top Ten Places to Retire To."

Here's what they had to say about good ol' Paris as well as where it placed…

4. Paris, Tenn. According to Brady, retirees come to Paris, which is roughly equidistant from Nashville and Memphis, because they like living near one of the largest manmade lakes in the world. "People go there to fish and relax," said Brady of Paris. (By way of background, the city also claims to have the world's largest fish fry.) Plus, Paris has a low cost of living compared with other retirement hot spots. The median sales price of a home here in 2009 was well below $100,000. On the downside, big city amenities are two hours away.

Now according to them, it's a bad thing that we're two hours away from Nashville and Memphis, but to me, it just increases the desireability.  Paris has 95% of the things I need in life and if we need any more, it's only 45 minutes to Clarksville, and slightly over an hour to Paducah.

I always knew we were living in a great place, but it's nice to see it confirmed…
