I'm beginning to think that there's no such thing as "normal weather."

We were blown/rained out of Florida two days early.  Last winter here in Tennessee was "the worst in years," and last summer was cooler than it had been in a long time.

Then talking to friends in Rhinelander, they're telling me that it's been very warm and dry up there.  My friend Gil was supposed to guide on Deer Lake in Lincoln County and the lake is gone!  It's part of an interconnected lake system and it's down 22 FEET!!!  Surprised

Yesterday it poured so hard this morning I had a snapping turtle next to the house,I live up on a hill.

Wind howled as well about 40mph,boats out skurried to get back in and looked like whales jumping as they tried to round the corner to safty.

I had gone down near the landing when it hit thats how I know, again neglected to take the camera along.Sort of like the missed 9 banded armadillo in the state park I missed out on taking a photo of thursday evening.

We see them slightly south all the time but in three years thats the first ive seen alive and in Paris Landing state park.Same size as a skurrying cocker spaniel, and none noticed much, only looks like an overgrown rat and quite frantic like a terrior.
