361.28 10 amm,may 16th,not bad considering another 4 in of rain have fallen, thats 2 ft over pool and a hair.

Currently 108,000 cfs sec going out,be about the 18th when both match at about 65,000 cfs.

At 30- 60,000 the ledge bite is spuperb as it takes some current, after about a few weeks or so  it will go down to about 26,000-32 the norm, for this time of year, this occurs after the flooding and spring rains.

The Paul Steel memorial Tournament is sheduled to go off on the 26th,that typically is about the heavest ledge bite weigh in around, after that it tends to fall off.Weights last year exceeded 30 lbs for five fish.

But when lake or natures conditions warrent it best to be safe than sorry.

You said a mouthful there.  The way that rain was coming down, I think my bilge pump and level floatation might have gotten a good workout had we stayed on the water!  But it was fun while it lasted…Smile

Current lake level is 362.65  thats about 1  1/2 ft less than yesterday, meaing teh dock at port road is completely visable, possibly usable.

At some time during the high water someone backed into the handrail and bent it over badly, this is going to be commerated by the gov in july as its a fairly new dock. Some one  has their work cut out to replace or repair prior.

Projected by 5/17-359.80

Meaning by the morning of 5/18 -summer pool

Shallows are chock full of panfish and catfish, yes catfish, a good friend of mine whom I sometimes depend to much upon got broke off on light line ,storms ending the day abruptly and prematurely.

But when lake or natures conditions warrent it best to be safe than sorry.

It would be nice to have the lake levels back down somewhere near normal so we could fish the lake!  But we'll just have to see what's going on nearer the end of the week.

I just don't feel that with all the stuff floating in the lake, that it's going to be terribly safe to run around out there quite yet.

Current lake conditions are 368.75,starting to drop est tomorrow is 368.55,as for how long it takes to summer pool anyones guess as more rain coming.

My own is ten to 14 days, even then it will feel like someione is sucking the bottom out from underneath your boat if out there.

Lake has floating logs, stray 4 wheeler left to close to the lake etc,in other words with a lot of current not a good place to be,so if you actually go out stay near the launch ramp in a protected(somewhat) bay.

Avoid running in areas you couldnt have prior to the flood as sumbmerged docks, picnic tables, new logs have all rolled in.

And from past ecperience, silt sumbmerged points will be added or lost or moved, same with laydowns you previously tossed to now someone in calvert city has yours, and you most likly gained some from south of here just have to find ,preferrably not with your lower unit.

Yeah, the Coast Guard was darned if they did and darned if they didn't.  There was just no way to win in a situation like this.

Every day they make a correction now its from liol bear to the dam as far as ky lake goes.

Yesterday from the 68 brdge to the dam,day before all of it yet they diidnt run anyone off down here.

Kind of figgure the towns, communities and resorts all complained about loss of revenue, and the lastest revision is because of Moors resort, people staying there have the possiblity of launching in that bay with a small alum boat, pay a few hundred bucks for a cabin your all here have a small boat and cant even float it near the cabin.

But day late and a dollar short most T orgs have cancelled even if the ramp is usable.

Im sure their will be discussions about how the cg handled this.

I agree, ran into a post elsewhere where the daid they told another to get off the lake and it was closed went to the cg website it said tenn river around nashville and printed this pic

Of guys fishing and hadnt heard anything about a closing ,lil while later you had posted it so went back to the cg web-http://www.piersystem.com/go/doc/425/539343/ and found this correction. Those fishing were within 200 yards of the cg station.

Also told about port road being the only place around here that I know one can launch at.

Apparently slow about it and fines most likly after today, maybe many are trying to get in one last quickie, topwater bite is superb, but not worth the fine.

So my quess is those start tomorrow, tug hadnt been moved and they are going way up the creeks so must be in those dingys ,maybe outrunem, but being closed for a reason most of the state is under emergency measures or control-dont they shoot looters and bass fishermen.Har har

Well then, the Coast Guard needs to get their butts out on the lake!  Janet and I went down to Paris Landing, then over to Port Road.  There were boats in Eagle Creek along Hwy 79 and probably 30 trucks at the Port Road launch with empty trailers.

Hmmm, 30 boats X $3,000.00 per boat, that's a cool $90,000 in fines!  Yell

Currently at 367 now, following pics show the difference of but a couple of days the porta john is about to flip, and bet it has a load at its base.

If your wondering how they are still getting in to fishI stopped took the guys pic and asked him,Port road is still open, most likly at 370 as its a steep ramp, but one has no acess to the dock its underwater completely and is a hazard,if one doesnt know where its at,one also has to have a hambys or haave assistance in launching.

Dang!  I guess I'll be seeing what the lake looks like at 367 – 375 feet afterall!  I heard yesterday that Benton County, directly south of here received over 18 inches of rain!  I do know that yesterday Janet and I were in Big Sandy in Benton County and the flood levels are astounding…

Still rising, announcement as follows from the knetucky portion.

Ky Lake new projection is going up…now predicted to be 370.5 by Saturday….that is 11.5 ft over summer pool. That has not been posted on TVA site yet..but was in a message sent out to resort owners by the local Sheriffs dept shortly ago advising to prepare now for it.

Guess that puts my ABA T sat on port road not viable.

Ps Nashville broke their previous flood level record set in the 37 flood, and had ten deaths as a result, even the grand old opry house got it as well as about 1500 toursits had to be shuttled in water from the hotel, this is a nashville pic.
