Im not worrting in about 60 more days if no natural relief will be ih the shade of the watermelon patch, two things grow here quite well in this dry 7.5 ph soil cucumbers and watermelons.

That was one days worth Steve, threw half that manyaway that had gotten large as miss some behind all those leaves and hard to gt in the middle when they get over ten ft across.

Catalope are starting to set as see a few softballs an one pumpkin(that does have a hard time here with the vines drying out)

Its easy to get field corn to top out over ones head but sweet corn anything over waist high is good-weird aint it.

Stink bugs will eat holes in the tomatoes if left till ripe, yet they dont bother cukes or watermelons, only pest to the melons is groundhogs takes a couple but they can roll one over the hill after testing a few others for samples.

Cure for the bugs is marigolds-they grow 2 ft tall here lol, cure for the groundhogs is a 16 ga

Cure for boredom is plant a garden, defend the garden, then try an eat all of it.

And while out there dont let the watermelon vines grab hold of ya.

I dunno…  I've now lived in both and I'd have to say that neither is good…  Surprised

You can always put on more clothes, while taking them off, you're limited to what is socially acceptible and legal…  Wink

I do like your idea of 72 degrees, partly cloudy and 3 – 5 mph winds!  Cool

Yeah I knew you "didn't have to" n' is why I said "You should have to…" All things being equal I would rather work in the brutal heat than the bitter cold – IF I have to choose between extremes. Given my preference it'd be 72 degrees, partly cloudy with a gentle 3-5mph breeze year round.+

I think both of us are past WORKING IN THAT STUFF, while i dont speak for Steve both of us are retired-early medical reasons.

Meanwhile life goes on-heat continues but just as you asked how long till we can fish in the winter, its about the same now till it cools off -one month more of hot hot,one month of semi off and on hot then its not summer, with about 8 weeks of super great fishing, till its cold enuff one deisres the coffee pot and wanting summer.

You should try working in this stuff. I'm currenty building an outdoor kitchen for a guy. I go through between 8-10 quarts of gatorade and who knows how much water every day. But I will say having done that it makes a day on the water bearable.

I don't know about "Summer" and "Not-Summer", but I do know that it's been way too freaking hot lately.  It's been this way now for well over a month!

I mean, where I live, we have lots of shade, so that's nice…to a degree.  But the shade doesn't help a whole heck of a lot when the temperature is pushing triple digit numbers and the humidity levels aren't far behind.  The last time I did go fishing, I thought about jumping in the lake to dry off…..

I read an article in the paper here not long ago. Writer claimed in Texas we have two seasons. Not summer and summer. Sounds like y'all got pretty much the same seasons!

Its normally hot here from june till sept, but like the rains in april the thousand year flood its a 100 year heat wave id say at a guess.

Accessing the murry state water recirds indicate water temp was 5 deg less this time last year.

I tought your house was rather well shaded unlike mine

Blame it on BP,global warmng,IBM,TVA and Hillory.

If i recall you coulndt wait for it to get to spring asking how long the winter lasts, they are short, spring is short, summer is fairly long, fall is short and late leaves leaving in nov.

Suspect you need to do less outside.Knida hard when trying to get a place setup the way you want it though. But its a needed thing less activity when its this hot.

Yeah, the temp really sucks when it's this hot.  I love to fish more than the average guy, but when it gets this bad, my ticker just doesn't deal well…  Surprised

Yup…. it's like that here too! I got the air temp accessorie for my SmartCraft gauge set @ 10:30 this morning is was registering 99 degrees! I came off the lake today at 11:30 and yesterday at 1:30. Just didn't feel like battling the heat and recreational boaters trying to locate some good fish and got tired of catching dinks in the backs of coves. Howev'a…. I was in the back of one of the major creeks this morning and a guy in a boat close by asked if I had a scale… well of course. He weighed n' released an 8.75 from the area I was fishing. I'd'a needed about 15 of the fish I was catching to hit 8.75!

That's just the problem Doug, there is no beating the heat around here lately.

Here's a shot of my truck's outside thermometer from Saturday afternoon.

Now is this "fairly warm" or not?  Confused

I wish A/C was an option of Tritons, I'd consider buying a new boat if that were possible…

And I HATE night fishing!!!   Yell

I knew it was going to be warmer here in Tennessee than northern Wisconsin, but this is getting ridiculous!

It's been so darn hot for the past month that it's almost impossible for me to get out fishing.  Heck, by 8:30 in the morning, the temps are already in the mid to upper 80's with humidity that's through the roof!

And with my heart condition, I can't stand the high heat/humidity.  It sucks.  I want to go fishing!!!  Yell
