Oh, this is so simple to operate that it's ridiculous.  There's one button to push to start the recording, push the button again to stop it.  That's it!

It has a super wide field of view so pretty much all that needs to be done is lay down on the deck, plunk the camera in the water and lead a hooked fish past the lens.  There's no viewfinder, no screen, so it has to be simple to use.

And it is!

I think that with a good seal, the mount would hold at 90 mph.  They've attached them to racecars and used them in crash sequences for the movies.

Neat the suf board would or could possibly be used to mount on the bow,but would it hold at 90 mph?

All jokes aside the other one was fairly simple to operate(I could),bet this one is as well.

The last piece of video equipment arrived today; the new GoPro personal HD camera.  It's all set up, battery charged and it's ready to go.

The thing is TINY!  Here's a picture of the entire camera.

The cool thing is that it came with a helmet mount, and there's all kinds of other mounts that a person can get, suction cup, chest mount, handlebar, surfboard, etc…

I can't wait to give this one a try too!

There's a clip for the lapel mic, so that's not a problem.  It's mounting the wireless receiver that processes the signal for the mic transmitter that I wear that is becoming the problem!  The camera I used to use had a nice flat area at the rear of the camera that was perfect for mounting the receiver.  This new camera is so small that finding an area to mount the receiver is a problem!

I thought about mounting the receiver onto the camera tripod, but I won't always be using the tripod, so that's out as well.  It looks like I'll have one place where the receiver can be mounted.

I need to get some Velcro and see if the one area I might be able to mount it will actually work.  Come over sometime and I'll show you what I mean.

As for being photogenic?  I'm sure there are many people that would argue with that statement, but as long as people are willing to watch me on TV, I'll keep trying to produce quality video….

Lapel but velcro still hurts, used to have a pair of gloves that had it around the wrists,in cold weather sometimes couldnt resist the urge to wipe face lol.

Shouldnt be to hard generally take decent pics, then again your photogenic, always a smile hair still in place.

Me I catch a 4 lber no or litle hair(top), and shirttail is out or raincoat on backwards, etc.

The camera!  I don't want to know where you thought I was going to mount the mic receiver!  Yell

The camera itself is fairly easy to shoot with, not a whole lot more difficult to operate than a point and shoot, but you will have to remember some things like keeping the camera level with the horizon, not panning (moving) the camera too fast, keeping it steady and not over-zooming.

If you can do that, you can be a videographer….Cool

LOL, well duh…

Here's the problem.  There's no real surface to mount the mic to!  I have one place that might work with velcro…

Well, UPS was here and Christmas is over!

The Sony camera is almost tiny!  I've got it all put together, date/time stamp set and have been playing with it.  It's amazingly simple to operate.  The one problem I have is trying to figure out how to mount my wireless mic receiver on the camera!

Anyone that knows me knows I don't do waiting very well.  And that's what I've been doing all week, waiting!

OutdoorFrontiers Multi-Media (my company) is waiting for new video equipment.  We're making the jump to hi-def with TWO new cameras!!!

One of the cameras is a Sony HVR-A1U hi-def camera, along with all the necessary accessories (including a rain coat).  This is a compact camera (about half the size of my existing camera) and will shoot broadcast quality video in a space (and weight) saving frame.  With its lightweight and spacesaving design, I can see where it's going to be a valuable addition to the company.  My videographers won't be beatup nearly as bad with this setup and being smaller and lightweight, it will be more concealable while filming hunting episodes as well.  Here's a link if you're interested.  http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/p…..ct-HVRA1U/

The other is very interesting as well.  It's a GoPro hi def camera with underwater capability!  It records to an SD card and a 16 GB card will hold over 4 hours of video!  The camera is small enough that it can be worn as a helmet cam, stuck to the side of a boat, on a surfboard, just about anywhere!  I'm envisioning underwater shots of fish with lures in their mouth, fish being released, and B-roll views of just about anything and everything!  You can see this tiny marvel of technology at http://www.goprocamera.com/ind…..oductid=33

The Sony and the accessories should be arriving via UPS today, and the GoPro should make its appearance on Monday.  I can't wait…..   Yell
