LilMule,

Up near the Arctic Circle isn't all frozen tundra, snow, cold and ice.  When I was there, it got into the 70's during the day and it was quite pleasant to be on the water.

And never say never!  I thought I was only dreaming that I'd be near the Arctic Circle fishing and hunting.  It was only a dream that I'd ever walk the plains of Africa, yet I've managed both.  Sometimes things just work out and you find yourself living a dream!

According to MapQuest, it's only a 16 hour drive from Buchanen, TN to Miami, FL, so Miami peacock bass isn't impossible, it'll just take a little planning, that's all!

Artic circle no thanks,if I wanted anything there it would be a view of the northern lights at least once, yes the fish are large, cant stand being cold.Peacock basss in miami sounds like up my alley.

And

Lake  trout 22 lbs. 2 oz. Watauga Reservoir Jack Forbes July 3, 2008

This isnt a small fish, here in Tn

For many years prior to bass fishing primary I was a trout fisherman ,yes fished all over just for them maine,ny, maryland,w.va,ohio,pa,il, virginia,nc,tn,georgia,sc(yes there are trout in sc in upper left hand corner.

Tied my own flies dreamed of retiring on say the white river and opening a fly shop, really didnt do bad at all could tye a royal coachman with spun deer hair that would float all day long.

An industrial accident hurt my left hand, severing the unal nerve, thus dreams went down the tube,as I used both hands and all fingers to do it with,so turned to bass fishing and making spinnerbaits etc as much larger than a # 22 redquill.

My fondest memory is that of a 13 wild brookie I released back into w.va waters.,6 wgt, size 16 goofus bug(bright yellow)

A bull trout from montana

Brook from nova scotia-a brookie is a char by the way not a trout

Cutthrout from the seirra nevadas

Would round out the trout fishing quite nicely

A peacock from miami would be the last

I'm in the same boat as li'l mule… I'd just like more time and money to fish my local lakes – "local" being a relative term here in Texas. With Amistad, Falcon, Choke Canyon, Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend – to mention a few. Who in their right mind would want to travel further than it takes to get to anyone of those lakes?

I wouldn't mind catching 100#+ tarpon or an even bigger marlin. If a big o'l trout grabbed my lure while I was bass fishing that'd be great – Kinna like catching a big striper while bass fishing.

I'd like the time… and money… to compete against the pros – just to see how I'd fare against them.

What I'd wish for is a good reliable partner to fish some of the team tournaments.

I wish I had my boat back too!

Oh c'mon!  There's not one place you'd like to fish or one species of fish you'd like to catch other than bass?  Surprised

I know I can trout fish here in Tennessee, but I'm talking about lake trout in the thirty to fifty pound class!  I got the chance once to fish lake trout, pike and big brook trout in Canada near the Arctic Circle and it was an incredible experience and a memory that will last a lifetime.

Well you can also get your lake trout in tn, just not ky lake.

Well if it is a matter of going to that great fishin hole at the end its my way of thinking a small boat and a swordfish, like the old man and the sea,one last great ride.

Guess im simple prefer to stay here in the mean time and fish for bass.

While I love my bass and crappie fishing, there are other species of fish I want to catch before I head off to that "Big Fishing Hole in the Sky."  Here's my list:

  • Big Peacock Bass in the Amazon
  • Payara in the Amazon
  • Tigerfish in Africa
  • Lake Trout on Great Slave Lake
  • Grayling near the Arctic Circle
  • Tarpon anywhere
  • Snook anywhere
  • Redfish
  • Big Stripers (they're here in TN so I might get this one)
  • Largemouth in Mexico
  • Sharks of any species, anywhere
  • Roosterfish in Mexico
  • Big Catfish (another TN fish, so this one is possible too)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.  What's on your Wish List?
