Oh, I'm all for culling a limit out, but if it's the law, then it's the law!  And I KNEW this goober culled in previous tournaments, so I made it a point to explain once you have five bass in the livewell, if you have a partner in the boat that hasn't already limited out, to turn control of the boat over to that person and you are DONE fishing bass for the day!

He didn't do this and was DQ'd.  I mean, if everyone is playing by the rules and not culling, and he was, that's simply cheating the rest of the guys.

AND, it does add a certain "spice" to the day.  Can I catch fish that are bigger or do I just go for a limit?  Because once it passes into the livewell, it's yours for the day!

Kinda tuff not being able to cull, but if its the law then to be obeyed.

That day we finished 5th at the yellow creek open, bet we culled about 3 1/2 lbs all 1 oz at a time, here its quite legal to do so.And yes quite happy anytime I can get 5 let alone culll.

But being the law ever catch a squeeker and not put it in the livewell, since you cant get rid of it,then maybe not get 5.

I remember reading about that incident.  Personally, I think he should have gotten more time in jail.

Anyone cheating in a tournament is stealing from the rest of the contestants, so all Roby is, is a THIEF!

We caught one guy cheating in a tournament I was running up in Wisconsin.  He was culling bass which is against the law in Wisconsin.  Well, he complained to me, complained to the FLW, which was ridiculous because I didn't have anything to do with the FLW and he complained to the Wisconsin DNR.  I was accused of DQing the guy so that a friend of mine could win the tournament.

On Monday morning, I received a phone call from the local game warden.  I was very polite, and even met with him in his office.

When I was done, the warden not only exhonorated me, but was going to make a call on the original complainant and "explain" to him exactly how many laws had been broken and how lucky he was I didn't call a warden on him!  Cool

Don't know if y'all recall but Roby Rose was the one accused of stuffing a 1 pound weight in a fish in an attempt to win a 20-25k Ledgend boat.

As reported in the Houston Chronicle Roby pleaded guilty to a charge of Felony Attempted Theft. He was sentenced to 15 days in jail. Information garnered from other sites indicate he was also sentenced to 5 years probation and was required to surrendeder his fishing license for the duration of the probration.

I would venture to guess his tournament fishing days are over….
