Forum | Fly fishing for Salmon on the Pere Marqutte river in Michigan

Just got back from my first ever fly fishing trip to the PM.  Almost hit the spawn run perfectly, maybe a week to early.  Some fish, alot of anglers to share them with but I did manage to land 4 fish, my biggest was around 20 pounds!  Man, what a trip!  The power these fish have is incredible!  My battenkill reel was screaming!  Pretty tricky trying to land these fish using a 6 pound tippet and chasing them in that river current. A whole new experience for me and I loved it.  I will definately be going back next fall.   Anyone else done this?  Camped in the Manistee national forrest and had a ball.
