I can relate to motor trouble ,however not to belts and pullys ,dont have any its an omc.voltage regulator went out on the xp but it still charges just not working on the rpm side, and have a bad stator on the venom.

As for that spot as long as I can get in it it will produce, its not a secret about where most of the grass is from 15 miles south to 60 miles south all the bays have some grass and a few other things like lilly pads, resemblance is more like a flooded backwater not a bay.

But best ledges are from 1 mile south to 15 south.

If you ask me where to fish id say go north young man go north.(good ledges up there)

I havnt even started fishing up here yet,so no points as yet.

Doubt if i will be high up in points,as may end up as a non boater for a bit.

On the other hand working on the jag to get it usable on a temp basis.Transom started delaminating and the guy that redid it used no mat on the board and very thin fiberglass in places.Later plan on doing a cutout and a pour of seacast. Will be stout and never rot.

Your going to have to get more people to enter so can have a full field, point ,points winning those with 12-14 people arnt points, well they are just not good points for placing.Several of or last T had so many they paid double on big bass.

Our point leader had over 1190,dont recall the exact ,he cut a check at tehe nationals ,and the next district over 41, I think is where the guy that won it is from.

Steve and I both met him at Birdsong as aba had a T earlybird prior to the nationals,I had intended to fish that and had scouted that area sort of via car, when I spotted the mother lode.

Seeing this, to find out if it was THE motherload wanted anothers opinion and asked Steve to fish that an open T same day that the aba was going on.The .rest is history.

We shared that area with half a doz other boats some aba some in our T,they just didnt know how to fish it,certain way one has to smile in order to get bit.

Plan on utilising that area a lot this year if I ever get my boat straightened out.

By the time of the nationals however its almost a mud flat.Last year it wasnt,as had some rain.

But with a lil luck some rain can scatter the duck hunters if need be.Even that time of year its good for 17 a day or more  three days straight .

Oh… LM… you forgot one thing… the GPS coordinates for that spot! :>)

Speaking of getting ones boat straightend out…. I was on Conroe today… didn't get a bite – not one. It was foggy as the dickens but I had GPS waypoints for the spots I wanted to check out. I'd idle through the fog…. get within about 15 yards of the way point then… through the fog I could see a boat setting exactly where I wanted to be. Sooo…. idle to next spot… and again – boat setting there.. over and over and over…. Fog didn't burn off until around 10:30. Water temp where I started was between 49 and 50 – not exactly what I was hoping for. I tried shallow and deep and inbetween – nothing. All of this took place on the lower end of the lake where I'd never fished before. Once I could run I ran to the other side and found warmer water but still no bites and no fish. Soooo…. I do have some spots up the lake and was going to run and check them out and try to find others as well. I hit the main lake running about 45mph then punched it… nothing – still 45mph. Quickly make a u-turn I ain't going up river in a sick boat. Ended up having to troll back to the ramp. The engine would crank and run but no power. Before it quit pulling at all I noticed at 4000rpms it was cranking out only 10.8v. Got home… took the cowling off and found the pully that turns the air compressor had sheared all 6 bolts that hold it on. One looked like it had been broken for quite sometime. It takes some major "ump" to shear 6 1/4″ inch bolts. Funny thing is I could turn the compressor by hand so it wasn't binding up. Even if it had you'd think the belt would slip instead of shearing 6 bolts.

Oh, and there is only one belt that turns both the compressor and the alternator – that's why there was no voltage output!

The pully that turns the compressor was, of all things, a press fit with only a c-snap ring to ensure it didn't fly off. Wasn't easy getting the pully off but it's off and all 6 broken bolts have been heated and removed. I'll call the guy that's owns this thing tomorrow and see what he has to say. Got a tournament next weekend and I'll fish it on the trolling motor only if I have to but I plan on replacing the broken bolts and test run it sometime this week. Just hope it holds together long enough for me to get mine back!

I feel your pain! :>)

I'm going today to Lake Conroe(leaving in about an hour). I've spent this week pouring over a paper map noting points of interest. Then I fire up the Lowrance 522c to get a better view of the structure. Then based on what I see I either create waypoints or simply put a '?' icon on places I want to investigate. I've spent hours sitting in the boat logging waypoints to check out, over 70 of'em thus far. Not sure how far into the 70 I'll get before, hopefully, a pattern develops but I still want to check most of them out. Our 2 day ABA championship is on this lake later this year so a few good spots down lake could be beneficial!

Well its 50 plus at the moment, water temp has raised from 36. 5 days ago to 40f.

Incoming water has gone from 220,000 cfs down to 143,000 a cfs, light stain, winter pool definately as about ten ft of the dock was on dry land.

With all the white stuff gone, but still some hardness on my pond, spring isnt far away, and with cabin fever at an all time high I drove down to the lake to toss in a bit.

Wasnt the only person who had fishing on their mind over 25 boat trailers sat empty at the ramp.

Tossed my odd looking double barrel bass busters just to see what each new one looked like in the water, nice flash, only time one sees its two delta blades is from directly overhead and I suspect directly underneath, other wise its like a multi bladed spinnerbait upon viewing. Those watermelon red skirts show up as a red skirt when in the water.

Crappie are hitting in about 16-20 ft of water(boater reports).

Other than that a few large largemouths taken off ledges on jigs, nothing taken off the dock where I was at,but the time spent out was needed.
