So does this mean you'd rather go downstream to the dam or upstream to Birdsong early next week?

Confirmmed up north in the middle of like johnathan creek on huimps and submerged roadbeds, fishing  the bank isnt bringing in as many. And a 6 lber was caught while crappie fishing stake beds chock full of eggs.

While just starting,its offically on.

Repeat stake beds-shallow,submerged roadbeds and humps.

They are up,merely changing shallow locations after ,during fronts, from shallow rocky points first third of the bays and mouths to mid lake humps and flats. Not much of anything on the radar deeper than 6 ft,including crappie.Even the bluegill are cruising the shallows near docks.

Welp….. as fer the bigger fish….. Regardless of the water temps… the bass know spawn time is coming due to the longer days and they are getting ready – even in your area. Just like you did I'd hit the main lake points leading into major spawing coves. I'd start fairly shallow and just keep moving deeper and deeper. Dollar to'a donut you'll find'em somewhere between the bank and 30'! A c'rig is a good tool for finding them but maybe as good or better is going to be a 3/4-1oz. football jig. Fished like a c'rig just drag it – sloooooowly. Get it up against something… shake it.

On Choke Canyon folks are reporting that finding grass is a tad difficult but if you do – big fish are coming from it. But we're also talking about water temps in the low to mid 60's.

Glad you had a decent day on the water… That's the way it was for me…. glad to be out regardless of the bite. Then…. when you can blast off in shorts and wind pants, and shed the wind pants after the first run…. Awww – life is good!

Well, we'll just have to go out then, won't we?

There's got to be someplace on Kentucky Lake that is holding big bass, I just need to find those places…

And you're right, it did feel good to be out…

Think in that respect at times like anywhere else, like back in ohio catch 15 shorts to one 12 in keeper, here the sgorts are bigger than the keepers back there, but one still has to wade through all the shorts.

And if you fished deeper with a crig still have to be a rocky point almost.

That condo point has been good to us,figgure it will be again.

I do have some veggie areas in big sandy also non grass but much earleir coming up,for us to try out.Basicly reeds and rushes and cattails.

Bet we can get one on a horney toad next week back in it.

Nice to get out aint it.

I went out today for a couple hours by myself.  Pulling up on a rock/gravel point, I thought just for grins and giggles, I'd throw a BuzzRBait and see what would happen.  Well, on the first cast, it was sucked down by a 14″ bass!  Released, I continued to work the point without a hit on the BuzzR.  I worked the point back with a Fluke and didn't draw a strike.

I went to another point and worked it with a tube jig and caught another couple short fish.  It was a 3″ tube, watermelon green with bright orange tails…

I tried another area that usually has weeds.  This time of year, there was nothing growing, nothing showing up at all.  I didn't have any action there.

So I tried another point, this time with my usual wacky rigged stick bait.  I caught three bass, none measured over 14 inches…

I went to a rock wall and tried throwing a 1 ounce Rattletrap and caught three more short bass.

So there you have it.  Find rock and you'll find fish, but whether they're the right fish or not is up to anyone's guess.

I guess I really should tie up a Carolina Rig and start working deeper water, but everyone I've talked to has been picking up fish shallow.  I guess I need to start asking how big the fish are!
