Thats why i said thought was myth,as did see that buck, but havnt seen any in the field since hunters have been going in the woods behind, yet they congregate near my house after dark withing 10 ft of the allison and house. Many years ago in ohio watched another hunter for 4 hrs he combed a hill each trek hed move over 20-30 ft going down then back up combing it quite well I thought, five min after he quit i watched three deer move out where he had been through ,they apparnetly have to be kicked out like grouse after they have been shot at.
They just arnt moving much after light gets up.If one is its because it got disturbed.
With any breeze they are half covered with leaves over that great camo suit they are wearing, and figgure you just about have to step on them.
Since the hunters are out notice turkeys as well make themselves scarce, yet several weeks ago strolled within sight of my home along with the deer in daylight.
Doesnt mean their are no deer or turkeys they just adapt.
If one thinks in terms of back home wouldnt think be many anyway due to the amount of homes, yet chock full of wildlife, more so than back home.
I have yet to see a black bear here, yet everything else even cougar just west of paris.several sightings, the oddball being the armadillo, next be black footed ferrets or martins.
Just some humor one just doesnt realise how much wildlife their is until actually seeing a lot of it.
Tn dnr is keeping quiet about alligators, and since that one was shot few years back just west of paris its now illegal to kill one, some biologists believe the alabama strain can survive the winter here.Doubt if they ever get thick but most likly said about armadillos as well.
