That's why I thought my stands were situated perfectly.  I could watch the lowlands where the deer move through, and I can see some of the fields where they feed at night!  But with the exception of some does and some turkeys, I haven't seen anything worth shooting at!  And I've been very careful with keeping scent free and not overhunting either stand.  The seasons are long enough that I don't have to overhunt one particular stand.  I haven't spooked deer going in or out either, at least not anywhere close to where I'm hunting, so I doubt they know I'm there…

Oh well, I'm working on getting permission to hunt some additional property nearby that doesn't get any hunting pressure, so hopefully that'll come through and I can split up my time in the woods even more….

Thats why i said thought was myth,as did see that buck, but havnt seen any in the field since hunters have been going in the woods behind, yet they congregate near my house after dark withing 10 ft of the allison and house. Many years ago in ohio watched another hunter for 4 hrs he combed a hill each trek hed move over 20-30 ft going down then back up combing it quite well I thought, five min after he quit i watched three deer move out where he had been through ,they apparnetly have to be kicked out like grouse after they have been shot at.

They just arnt moving much after light gets up.If one is its because it got disturbed.

With any breeze they are half covered with leaves over that great camo suit they are wearing, and figgure you just about have to step on them.

Since the hunters are out notice turkeys as well make themselves scarce, yet several weeks ago strolled within sight of my home along with the deer in daylight.

Doesnt mean their are no deer or turkeys they just adapt.

If one thinks in terms of back home wouldnt think be many anyway due to the amount of homes, yet chock full of wildlife, more so than back home.

I have yet to see a black bear here, yet everything else even cougar just west of paris.several sightings, the oddball being the armadillo, next be black footed ferrets or martins.

Just some humor one just doesnt realise how much wildlife their is until actually seeing a lot of it.

Tn dnr is keeping quiet about alligators, and since that one was shot few years back just west of paris its now illegal to kill one, some biologists believe the alabama strain can survive the winter here.Doubt if they ever get thick but most likly said about armadillos as well.

That's just it!  I'm covering both high ground and low lying areas.  My stands are on some higher ground, but I can watch a creekbed and the thickets alongside the creek.  I'm going to try to get out in the morning again and see what's happening.

I'm beginning to think that the bucks have grown wings and flew south…

General consensus is they leave high ground about this time and go low, thats what they say here anyway as we are on a hill.

But feel its a myth myself as almost drove over a 10 pt coming back the other day,and ive watched does recently traveling the road on the side and if a car comes then schurry off,yet coming back to travel in a few in a group of course but rather odd behavior.

Also tracks all along side my house and neighbors tell me they saw 7 deer in my side yard next to tractor and signs of bedding just behind the house havnt a clue other than i do not hunt them.My dogs should be an inhibitor but guess they know a fence controls their  actions.

I've been out deer hunting these past couple of days and I haven't been seeing much of anything!  I did see a couple small does recently, but since early October, I've been hunting and haven't seen one single buck!!!

The buck sign is there, but the bucks aren't!!!  Yell
