Yes… degree of cold does make a big difference. In my line of work I use 28v Milwaukee power tools almost exclusively. And when it gets really cold… you know… mid 50's…. LOL…. when it gets into the teens I can tell a difference and this is with Litium Ion's….

This camera does have a jack that I can plug a 6 volt battery in to, so I might check into that.  One of the things I do know from living up north is that cold saps a set of batteries pretty quickly.  My friend had a camera set up and we'd be lucky to get half a dozen pictures before the battery went dead.  But, bringing it back home, it would warm up in the truck and read fine.

Of course, it was well below freezing then, so the degree of cold might make a difference too….Surprised

I had a good trail camera one time – then we got a divorce! Hahahah! 'sides it wasn't all that good… shook too dang much when it got cold!

4-c-cell… is what???? 6v? you could by an automotive 6v battery and with a simple homemade adapter it'd probably take all 2500 pic's before the battery ran down!

I was gone to visit friends just north of Chattanooga last weekend, and while I was there, Dobby took us to a new Academy Sports.  It's a good thing there isn't one within a two hour drive, or I'd be flat-broke most of the time!  It was incredible the selection of fishing and hunting stuff they had available!  Surprised

While I was there, I picked up a Wildgame Innovations S2C digital trail camera.  It'll take a 2 GB SD card, which will hold 2,500 pictures!  I figure that'll be more than enough capacity for my use.  AND, it was only $60…

So I got it home and set it up in alongside the garage.  It takes surprisingly good pictures out to about 30 feet, night or day.  So now I have it set up fairly low to the ground to see if I have night-time visitors to the bird feeder in the back yard.

The only thing I wonder about is how long 4 c-cell batteries are going to work once the weather gets cold????Confused

Anyone else got ideas on a good trail camera?
