Forum | Bummer of an evening

Nope, we didn't have any rain here at all yesterday.  It was actually quite nice in the woods and it wasn't until the last 15 minutes before I got down from the tree that I felt a little chilled.

I'll get out today and see if I can find another place to put a treestand, I have five stands, so it isn't like I can't afford another in the woods.

I know the deer are there, I just need to figure out where to put a stand to see the bucks!

Just like the title says, it wasn't a great evening to deer hunt.  I got out in the woods fairly early, and was sitting in my treestand, nice and quiet.  For a change, the breeze was even working to my advantage, carrying my scent out to an open field where I didn't expect any deer to show up.

But even though I sat as quiet as a mouse, to the point of having a bird land on my shoulder, I never saw one single deer! 

Before I climbed into my stand, I checked and there's fresh tracks in my mineral lick, and there's fresh rubbings on a nearby cedar tree, but I've yet to see a single buck.  However, this is the first time I haven't even seen a doe…
