Well Steve… Fact of the matter is I'm weary of this ordeal. Unless there's a hole in the boat that I can see… I'm dragging it home pretty much without comment. The guy I'm dealing with appearently has no scruples nor moral ethics so a grand berating would more than likely fall on deaf ears. I'm tired of being angry and P.O.'d over something I really can not change. So for me… it's over. Just get my boat home, assess the repairs and determine if it makes sense to put it back together. If not… strip it and junk the hull and like the attorney in Flordia I spoke with

Uh its cheaper to install 200 versus 225 or 250 xs,and its a lil inflated on the price for what they value it at one could buy one with a 225 on it easily, and many years they had the second boat smaller with nothing but a 115 hp on it.
They are giveaways that cost them practically nothing, prior to the Tritons it was Rangers.
They triton and BASS are all in a partnership now days, thus why there are several series that one must also belong to bass or own a triton(triton gold). In order to qualify one must have a triton boat 5years old and under another reason so many 2005 and 6 are for sale wont be viable next year, wont qualify to enter.
And yes triton gold is held here very year,so if you win one you can fish them, they also have a more expensive trail and a  150 trail all here on ky lake(250 entry)
Good luck on your trip,as for winning a boat ,you stand a good chance.(one does have to pay taxes on it)

Hmmm keep fingers crossed maybe it will make it back without replacing anything, seems to me your really taking a Gamble.
Tad bit of humor< I can chuckle as dont own it,yet can relate to it,just not as often or as much.
Rename it the MONEY PIT,I loved that movie by the way.
They all cost money some more than others, mine is still down awaiting a stock piston, had I rebored it np been together a month ago,so at times we are all in the same boat so to speak.

I didn't know yours was down. Thought once you got the stator replaced you were good to go! Yeah, they all cost money to maintain. I'm just hoping mine stays fixed for awhile. 'Least til I can get through Nationals n' win either of the two boats. "WHEN" that happens you can bet the Gambler will be sold. Last year Triton introduced the XS line at Nationals. Steve said he recently took a ride in a new Triton… The Tr-21 HR or something like that. I wonder if they're gonna introduce a new hull at Nationals this year. The only issue I had with the boats as prizes they awarded last year was… At Nationals they had the boats on display but they had no engines on them. They were both 20' or 21' models. After the guys that won the boats the engines were installed, 200hp Mercs. No 225's much less a 250 Pro XS. I just wondered how much more a 250 cost Mercury to manufacture vs the 200. My guess is it can't be much more than a hand full of nickles which begs the question. "Why did they only install 200's on a couple of really nice hulls?"

Welp… I'll be heading to Florida to get my boat back. Got the o'l hunk'a junk all cleaned up n' shinning. Got my electronics off of it, put the dead cell trolling batter back in it, re-installed the broken x-110 Lowrance, re-installed the binding aereator pump motor, fixed the hatch latch that came apart @ Amistad(but it no longer locks). Put the Jay Martin repaired prop on it. Was going to remove all the bearing buddies I put on it but it just ain't worth my time to pull the wheels, locate std. bearing caps and install those. So, he's getting about 50 bucks worth of bearing buddies.

It's a 950 mile trip – one way. This trip will bring total mileage to around 5,000 miles I've driven trying to get the boat healed. Cost of each trip approaces 500.00 gas/lodging. I get P.O.'d just thinking about the additional cost. 100.00 bucks a month insurance on the loaner for 8 months. Repair/maintanence cost total approximately 400.00(not including my labor). Better stop now a'fore the o'l blood starts boiling – again!

Depending on when I leave I'll be back either Wed. evening or Thurs. morning.
