This is how I solved the problem of the fuel tank wanting to rotate. There are two of these stops, one on each side. They're bolted to a crossmember that spans the width of the rigging compartment. The crossmember is about 1 1/2″ thick and 2″ tall. The stops are held in place by a 3/8″ SS bolts.
