Yeah my first experience taking out the ranger 373v here, got it out in the main looked for a change in the main couldnt see it,gps did not have depth contour boat was a lil on the bump bump bumpy side riunning in it as well turned around and saw bottom.Got home ordered a new gps preloaded, bought another boat glassport 21 ft,which ran ok on it .

Later even after getting used to it(does one ever get totally used to winter pool) cut across bit to soon to hit the condo point was bumping bottom turning it around with Steve.

I run up and stop way back on points and see stumps I never have prior and just in front of me,even stopping way back.

Condo point did produce by the way yesterday.

I can't recall which practice day it was – Monday or Tuesday but… me n' Steve launched at New Hope after losing all hope of finding a ramp in the Sulfer Creek area. We ran out of Big Sandy headed south. We fished Bass Bay for awhile with no success and decided to head back to Big Sandy. Well… making the turn into Big Sandy I cut waaaay inside the bouys – wayyyy inside. We're well off the shoreline running 70+mph. Steve hollers "YOU'RE IN REALLY SHALLOW WATER!" I holler back "I KNOW!" How did we know? I mean besides seeing the bottom of the lake on both sides??? Well the shoreline was on the left side about 100 yds. away and on the right side was a crane about the same distance. Water was lapping the cranes ankles. Now the rest of the story…

I have a 1240a Lowrance flasher in the boat. From that point on when we would get out of the bouy line I'd flip it on. That worked great – except. In tearing out the repairs when I got back I discovered that – I had never reinstalled the transducer for the flasher… it was just layin' in the back of the boat. How or why it recorded depth changes I'll never know. Same as I'll never know how/why we didn't end up stuck on a hump in 2″ of water like one boat we saw did.
