I don't know who designed the dang adj. post…. But it sho' would be nice if they'd make'em just a tad shorter in the compressed position. My butt ain't that high. I can' "lean" on it just fine but there ain't no way to comfortably take the load off of one's by sitting on it…. And I don't know anyone whos butt is as high as those things will go either!

Being a flyweight ive always had trouble getting the adjustabe to adjust,so have always used normal poles with the butt seat on top of the stack, until I got the allison it had a pole inbetween taller than normal yet not quite as much as two together that were shorter, works, natuarally non adjustable.

The last seat purchased at wally world the stiching on the strap gave out after a few uses, previous one from wally world three years old still a decent seat.

Wanna use my non adjustable till the backorder clears. With allison butt seat, might make that triton look like its going faster.

Al things considering the triton fishes well ,yours included.

And now I'm ticked off once again!  The pedestal and seat were supposed to be in Friday, so I waited until just before closing time and went down there.

The person working told me the seat was supposed to be there, but she hadn't opened all the boxes yet, but the pedestal was backordered!!!

Darnit, it's not supposed to cost this much and be so hard to get a simple seat and post!!!Yell

Ok, here goes and it's likely to be fairly long.

I just got some camera equipment and was thinking of adapting my leaning post into a combination leaning post/camera stand by drilling a hole in the top, adding in a 1/4×20 stud and screwing my video camera to the post.

But if I do that, then I need another seat for the bow platform.  So I thought I'd get myself an adjustible pedestal with a butt seat.  And here is where my compaint begins!

Have you priced these things lately???  I went into town and tried to buy one.  There wasn't a single place in Paris that had one, although everyone "could order one for me."  So I went to one of the local marinas.  I couldn't even get waited on, even though there was no one else in the shop, just an employee yakking on the phone with one of her friends…

So off I went to another marina, thinking that a pedestal and butt seat wouldn't be that hard to find.  They had the pedestal, but no seat for the darned thing.  AND, the pedestal was priced at $115.00!  JUST the darned pedestal, no seat!  That would be at least $25.00 extra!!  And if I wanted one with a scooped out back that I could either sit on or lean against, those started at $50.00!!!

So we have a BassPro Shops affiliate shop nearby, so I went there.  Of course they didn't have anything in stock.  So I figured that I could order the pedestal from them, order one of the $25.00 seats from the marina, combine the two and have what I wanted; that's what I tried to do.

I ordered the pedestal from the one place ($65.00) and went off to the marina.  I placed the order for the butt seat, and was told that the seat wasn't available in the color I wanted.  The two color choices they had available didn't match anything on my boat, so I said forget it.

Back to the BassPro affiliate I went, and found the seat I wanted for $39.00 and ordered that.  The pedestal and seat should be here on Friday.

Why don't places keep a fairly common item in stock?  And why should the pedestal be priced so bloody high at $115.00?  I understand that they can't price items to compare with Wal-Mart, but why should it cost $50.00 more?  Why is it I can special order the pedestal AND the seat for $11.00 LESS just a couple miles down the road?

These are things that drive me nuts!
