Not bad stats for a 225.

An alley however is the opposite shutdown and it goes right.

Welp… back at the house. Raised the engine 1/2″ and picked up 1mph to 80.5. The lake is low n' standing timber is eva' where. Soooo it's prudent to stay close to the boat lane markers. Unfortunately they have only one marker and ya' never know just 'zackly where it is in relationship to stumps. The best bet being "stay close to the marker". I probably could'a touched 81mph if I had just a tad more room. Just about the time I'd get it aired out n' settled down…. boat lane turned. Between the boat lanes and boat traffic… wasn't a good weekend for running a boat WOT. Because the lake is low the ramps make it a bit tough to trailer in and out. So I just raised the engine 1/2″ at the house and took out one of the PVS plugs on the Trophy. I couldn't tell a difference with the plug out and next time I'll take out another one. But if the hole shot doesn't get any better than what it was I'm satisfied anyway. Still have good water pressure and the engine can go up some more. Just the 1/2″ I raised it made it easier to drive. But… One thing I noticed with the 2007 intimidator is they have a different hot foot n' I'm gonna get me one ov'em. My hot foot has much less travel than the one in the intimidator. You can really tell it when you're trying to come down off of full throttle. On my boat it's hard to ease off the throttle simply because a little bit of throttle movement equates into a lot of throttle movement. Until I change out the hot foot…. don't be close to me when I'm shuttin'er down 'cause I will dart a tad to the left! Just trying to slow down upsets the boat.  But that's a minor thing. When I purchased the 225 Pro XS I figured I could get that boat to run 83-85. Raisning the engine and having the prop B n' B'd, I'm pretty sure, is gonna get me there.

Had a guy on a jet ski try to race me this morning…. LOLOLOL…. Li'l oh jet ski was pretty fast… up to about 60mph…. I shut down at 78mph n' he was no where around!

Next I'll take the boat to Lake Sumerville which is closer to the house. It's an open lake, not big but big enough. I'll go durning the week and probably after school starts and get the final set up on it done.

End of September is getting closer n' closer… [sniff... sniff] I think I can smell KYL!

Turnkey or turkey it will soon be open season here on the latter.

Your coming here during hunting season ,that one hole is shoulder to shoulder with poor shooting duck hunters,at least one punt gun in the group-8 or 10 guage id say at a guess.

Thinking of eq the alley with a 20 mm or a 37 mm flare launcher to shoot back or brigten the area up somewhat anyway.

No kidding we landed wasnt loang till we thought we were in the middle of ww3,but no fears they merely were in a line and like african drivers drove the bass out to us.

But a sight to behold and our exressions as well as had practiced for a month prior and thought pattern had went and gone to ell. That first three min wouldnt have given 5 bucks for knowing the pattern, but two min after that we had fish got so busy forgot about the buggers almost.

Did duck a few times when a low fliying ducks came over, they did not fire fortunately, but made ones skin crawl a bit, later we found steel shot on the deck, most likly what came up went down as no damage,it just rained shot at times.Spent.

But none the less a bit scary at first also not knowing how they would react to a 20 ft bass boat 50 -100 yards from them.

So if any did target us,just  like the ducks they missed.

I do figgure among themselves their were some choice words for us,but none voiced that we could hear.

So prepare that turkey vulture,if you want to collect insurace then paint a bullseye duck on it someplace, with a printed sign saying shoot here, quak quack.

Sometimes my humor is over endulged.Miight wanna wear a kevlar vest.

Well Doug, that certainly is good news!  Now all you have to hope for is that the current "good vibes" trend continues.

And Lil Mule?  I think you need to fire that mechanic.  This has gone on far too long…  Yell

Keep futzing around with it and you wont be a weiner, meanwhile mine isnt still quite done the local shaman came down from the hills and said when he rolled the bones it didnt look good,so wasnt completed, as considered bad ju ju.So some pixie dust was sprinkled around,in the hopes of keeping away evil spirits.

Hopefully will obtain better results when the moon whanes.

Welp…. after a day ann'a half…. It's looking good. Friday I put the boat in down by the dam and whooo boy…. was there some boat traffic. I managed to hit some right healthy boat wakes at around 75mph which induced some shall we say – stress to the boat. Did that several times until my kidneys n' spine pleaded with me to stop. Happy to say not a crack anywhere inside or out that I can see. Batteries are still bolted in the locations and not laying on their sides. In 95 degree weather with humidity high enough you could see it ran 79.6mph but never got the boat fully aired out. Engine is still too low, which I'm gonna remedy in just a bit. It's still a handfull to drive at full song. Not at all impossible but ya' ain't gonna be sippin' java from a chrystal cup while you're doing it.

I was simply amazed after the first hole shot. This boat jumps outta the hole compared to the 2007 Intimidator. And… I don't have to know how to fly a helicopter or airplane, flaps up n' down, trim up n' down…. Just smash tha' throttle n' go.

I did discover I have a weak circuit breaker on one trolling motor battery. It does fine on anything other than a very high setting. Try to kick the trolling motor into high and it trips the breaker. The cover thingee on the breaker had come off had come off a long time ago and I figured it was only a matter of time until it took a hike.

After intitial testing I focused on fishing. And I've caught a ton of fish…. 5=1#. They're schooling up in the back of creeks and you can catch'em until you're tired of catchin'em. This has been an all day event for the last two days.

I'm gonna raise the jackplate 1/2″ and run the boat again in the morning.

I think id be hard pressed to beat the first maiden voyage, going out on plane  in 30 mph wind 3 -3 1/2 fters and two hrs later off plane  45-50 and 5 to 7 ftrs.

Im sure that a memory that will be with you a long time.

It was rather foolish yet a good memory, yours a lot of it backwards as sat backwards facing the motor. But one I shall cherish and keep for remberance not to duplicate in this lifetime.

I concede, you win by default, not quite ready but actually on the boat.

Most of the work was done prior to the piston coming in like wrist pin bearings etc, minor honing and one cy to put piston is is all that was left, assembly with new gaskits and drying, motor painted as well while down-black thats original for itnot the cover but motor, wouldnt want it to be mistaken for a merc lol.

Yes with the motor on steve.

The other one ya lost as it aint aug the 8th,to bad I keep lucky porta ricam charm as portable charm from puetro rico.Inherited it as owner had his head shrunk.

Oh if it wasnt for bad luck id have no luck at all.shucks cant sing it as good as you did in that peacock bass video.

Will take for a test drive then maybe we can go out for a three hr tour.

Seems like an awful quick turn-around from piston is here to boat is ready. But… If that's the case what we have here is a win-win situation. Glad your boat is water ready n' gladder still mine is! Mine will hit the water around 4pm this afternoon.

All systems go…. leaving around noon tomorrow. Just finished checking tire pressure. Also filled the bilges with water to make sure bilge pump switch works – it does. Didn't on the loaner. Filled the livewells and checked the aereators – check – they work great. Got 2 gals. of oil and 30 gals. of gas. I plan on doing some running but after a few trips in front of the dam – I'll be fishing!

Carpet is installed as is the furniture at my sis'ta's house. Will be putting tha' boat in the water Friday afternoon… and Saturday morning… and Sunday morning…. It ran fine and had no structual issues last October on Picwick… I really don't expect anything this time either. Well it had a long stress crack on the top cap at the transom/port side last time but they really did build up the cap in that area plus it appears they did some other work on the inside where the cap/hull seam is. So maybe…. just maybe….

I know a place on Toledo that is similar to hole 179 and I'm going there first. It's much smaller and has/had a well defined creek channel in it. It's been years since I've been back there but the last time it produced fish – just no big'uns.
