Actually quite a few older boats that are rated for a 225 hp the 94 21 ft glassport was ,and the 22 ft jaguar is for a 235hp,allison however while over 20 ft have a recomendation of much lower like 150 hp.

Years ago under a different owner aba had gone by what the plate rating listed regardless of how large the boat was,the allison plate rating also has a disclaimer on it saying to the effect does not .

Had heard Bill made a few plate rating plates to replace some of those same aba boats saying unlimited, dont know how true that is.It was a warranty issue more than anything else, same boat as mine the lil fastbass now has a 440 lb motor weight restriction ,mine has a 400.

Im a tad over at 408 but its a 1990 model certainly not under warranty.Composite  wont rot

a 2003 would be a decent buy,has tad more room, they are however tricky boats to handle.

Stratos 201 is a good ride,as well as both those tritions, scream n fly guys seperate them all the time,as well as those on fastbass.

Bass cat is available often, legend is not .If going with a wood transom boat id stick to 2000 and newer have actually seen a 2002 boat that had a rotted floor,as was kept outdoors uncovered.

I've found that overpowered boats are fairly rare and for me to find two 1999 models both equipped with 225 outboards would suggest to me that the 225 was a reasonably common upgrade.

My guess is that the TR-20 came standard with a 200 horse outboard but could be ordered with a 225.  But hearing from the seller as to what the rating plate reads would be best.

Good luck!

Could be…. folks can over power the hulls if they're not fishing tournaments. I found a few rigged with 225's as well but the bulk of them are 200's and the quote from NADA included a 200 – soooo reckon I'll find out tomorrow.  I got a response from the guy selling the boat and, believe it or not, he did not know what was on the rating plate? Anyway… he's gonna check it tomorrow and send me the answer… I can tell you one thing…. bare hulls are a tad difficult to find when you're looking for them.

Sorry Doug, my mistake.  I don't know why I looked for a TR-19, but I did.

I did a little internet searching and found two 1999 TR-20 boats that were 225 equipped.  So my guess is you're good to go!

The tr 20 and 21 are two of the most popular boats on ky lake, pretty sure its 225 hp ,its over 20 ft anyway and a recomendation wouldnt apply.

The tr20 is a hair faster than the 21 with a 225 have ridden in both.

One thing to think about while it was one their popular sellers its been discontinued for more expensive models, llongest tr made now is 19 ft 6 in rated for a 200 hp.

Faded ?If you want a cheap boat ive got it,the jag needs a proper transom repair its rated for 235.22ft long 95 in beam dual axle trailer.

Have a trolling motor 24 v 72 pd thrust but needs a new mount, the boat trailer and the troller 1,000 dollars, its got the biggest dual single livewells ive ever seen in a bb.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't believe that you're going to be able to put that 225 on a TR-19.

I looked at the Triton website and it lists the outboard rating at 150 – 200 horsepower.  I seriously doubt that they reduced the rating over the years.

It's a 1999 "TR-20″ not a Tr-19. I have found one rigged with a 225 but who knows. I sent the guy with the boat an email requesting the informatino on his rating plate – That will answer the question definatively – I would think.

But.. If anyone runs across any of these mfgs. hulls that's a decent deal I'll consider it.

Trition

BassCat

Allison

Legend

Stratos

There may be other's I'd consider on a case by case basis but those would be the leading candidates. I'm looking for a bare hull. I don't even care if it has wiring. Don't need steering, trolling motor, nav/anchor lights, for sure don't need engine, don't need batteries or charger. Heck don't even need trailer.

I need something rated for the 225. I prefer a 20-21'er dual console but will accept a single console. I'd like to keep the year to a minimum of 1999 but would consider a well kept hull in good shape from earlier years. The 20-21' requirement and ratings for a 225 will keep it from going much further back than that any way.

Ain't looking good on my boat nor recovery of anything more than what I've spent directly on repairs – and even that is kinna iffy. Anyway…. Trying to move on and make plans for all the stuff I had on the POS Gambler. I've found a 1999 TR-20 that while a tad ugly, has a camo wrap due to faded top cap prior to covering. What I'm trying to find out is… is the 1999 TR 20 rated for a 225? Every one I've seen for sale has a 200 on it. I have yet to see one with a 225. But, I called a local Trition dealer and he said he'd have to check and called me back later and said the 1999 Tr-20 was rated for a 225. Just hard to believe out of all the ones I've looked at all have had 200's on them. Also did a NADA check and on the 1999 year model they include the boat AND engine in the report. A 1995 TR-20 trition is valued around 9k WITH a 200hp engine.

The TR-20 I found the guy is asking 4200.00 for with no engine, no trolling motor and no electronics. The trailer is pretty much rusted out, the the boat is wrapped in a camoflauge wrap(puree'dee ugly). I ask if he'd considere 3500.00…. Said he had to have 4,000.00. I might do it IF the hull is rated for a 225.
