Close doug but no cigar 0900,aug 6th,now starts instantly, just run the key and hang on.

As far as speed goes yours (GAMBLER WITH A 225)runs only a lil slower than mine with a 27 p fishing prop, speed tests will have to wait as double oil.And will have to adjust the gas linkage as they always have it set to high, prefer to have to have foot resting on it to keep it running, after it and not start cold way to fast as this thdoes not have to be in nuetral, racing mod starts anywhere.

According to former opwners top end with a 27 p is a tad over 80,have yet to get it theres, still getting used to it,and had it  down without half the time ive owned it.

Last time out on one weak cyl pushing 90 psi it went 72 in a heartbeat, now same cyl is 125,should have been done 020 but didnt have the money to do them all, honing and now within specs of the 15 psi,and should get better as that one cyl seats.other cyl are pretty much and 130 and 135,with the exception of number one which is higher, normal with a removed airbox as always 5 to even ten psi more on that one cyl.

Running one so does have its problems such as mechanics that have never seen it let alone worked on one,and shouldnt they had instructions not to alter. As a scewdriver applied to settings would be a meltdown if done by a factory mechanic.Takes much more air than a standard motor.Yet specs permit 87 oct gas, while still ported out the yin yang,my fist would go thru the exaust ports, exhaust holes are plugged as was way to loud, semi now.

But usable, just some minor adjustments to the gas, dont like a 5.6 mph idle speed, even adj 3.6 -3.9 is about as slow as it will go,and still run.

As is not something you would not  want to jocky around in a pack awaiting blastoff.

I always put on the troller to do that anyway,as never did like it,with some backing up and others drifting, with no skeg it does not handle immeadiately or responsive off plane,in particular reverse.

Guy I drew at the regionals last year locked his keys in the truck, they tried for 1/2 an hr to get it with a coathanger,I got in less than 1 min ny using a small screwdriver on the split rear window, only thing holding it locked is a 1/4 in plastic tab, insert hold against and pop with hand. Then again to the rescue among all the good ol boys I was the only one that could get trough it,crew cab,so couldnt just grab the keys. After that they placed an S on my chest and gave me a budweiser, only thing bad about it is good ol 300 lbers drink Lite.

Im now off the wagon again as had another one day over at fat daddys, courtesy of Steve.

Yeah sooner or later they will get it right lol, they been in business a fairly long time but not  into foot throttles, hopups, speed or working on anything moving faster than the tortoise.

Meanwhile it rains around me but not here garden is drying up,peppers are wilting along with tomatoes, summer squash whole plants turn brown in last two days, pumpkin is dying ,watermelons seem ok hopefully so far so good have about 60 of them set and on,20-25 pds,be about three more weeks. If theres one thing i can do its raise cucumbers and melons.

Ps ive marigold on the front porch in a pot, finally 1 flower but about 2 1/2 ft tall, never seen one grow that tall. Its topped my front porch rail, that i havnt a clue.

I did that same thing at a tournament this year. Me n' another guy was roomin' together. We get ready to pull out. I hop in the truck, put it in gear and the tongue hit the ground. Well, while I was busy dropping trailers on the ground my roomy was busy locking his keys in his truck. Wasn't a good start to the morning for sure.

LM… how long them guys that worked on your engine been in business????? You're havin' almost as many problems getting going as I did. But one of these days… you'll be back to va'roomin' around…. I reckon!

Yeah the thing wouldnt fire on one cyl when i took it back, they chaged coild nothing then hooked wires back up again and bingo, either loose connection that will come apart first time its run or should or they just didnt have the caps snapd in good on the coil, hate it when something dixes itself.

As for it not running takes gas guage read 1/2 tank and it had 18 gal in it when taken there 4 1/2 months ago,1/2 tank is 12 gal but gauge must have ben hung up,thus whay it woked on their remote gas tank.

No noone ever steals anything in ky-hatfield- mccoy fued started over a pig, twas the kentucian who borrowed it

So after putting some go go juice in it will test accordingly.

I did hear it start up this time but not continue to run for lack of go go juice, but know it will start, and with juice should continue to run.

Taking out in the morning even if on the dang troller. But if alls well it whould srat and run.

Maybe ya' knocked something loose strapping the wiring back up????

Hoorah hooray when Johnny comes marching home again hoorah hooray, its a john-rude at home again, all works they say,be testing tomorrow.

The have to clean her up a bit and restrap some wiring, otherwise up to the test to tell if anything else, all guages respond nicely so figgure its ok,besides been awhile since ive been out.

S o what if its 101 tomorrow with an index of 115 going early not staying late lol.

It was run,but on his remote gas tank and power  as he couldnt get my gas hose to reach after switching jp,and he said i had a bad battery(may be ) but problem wasnt so much battery as a short somewhere,im letting him figgure it out.

I added two extra ft to the hose, placed the start wiring to a disconnected troller battery so no excuses now.Hope no internal inurys as that stator is 1 year old with about ten hrs on it.

A friend of mine once said everything happens for a reason as they all love you,my reply was just wish sometimes they didnt love me so much.

Another famous quote all things shall pass-eventually

Yep, back to the shop with it and I would NOT leave until he worked on it and you heard it running on the muffs.

Everything worked when you took the boat to him, and it's B.S. that you should have to wait one minute longer than necessary to get it back in the same shape as it was when you took it in.

Are you saying the guy that rebuilt the engine never even fired it up? That's insane if that's the case. I'd'a dang sure heard it run before I trailered away from the shop with it. Unbelievable!

Well it is going back in the morning as it does have to start, nothing associated with the key on switch position works, its like having the kill switch engaged.

Wiring has a couple of places it got hot at,not even teh fuel pump that goes drectly from the switch to it works, and dont have a decent volt ohm meter anywmore besides its got to at least fire up lol.

So back to square 1,hopefullyt not for long

Yup… comes a time when enough is enough. Just gimme my boat back n' I'll take care of what needs taking care of. The automotive world ain't perfect but it's light years ahead of the marine industry. I'm not sure what the marine industry can do about their image either. It's problematic from mfg. to independent most ov'em ain't worth the grease stains on their ball cap. Understanding of course that is just one mans opinion!

Glad you go your boat back! I know I sure was glad to get my stuff back in mine and get it on the water. Just wish it was a tad cooler but that'll come in time!

Id get tired long before it was ready, glad to get it back, and dont need anything else screwed up…

I will find the problem and may be more than one,as tilt an trim guage does work when one turns the lights on has power but  not really working.Starter battery was old but workable now doubt it,sitting 4 1/2 months didnt help it any.

Kind of like dougs one has to take care of what should have been already, but wasnt.

And kind of hard to diagnose without a good 12 v,just have to sort it out .backwards engineer it

May have been where i worked and added the hyd jackplate, time will tell,at least its home.

I'd take the boat back and STAND there until it was fixed, even to the point of telling other customers exactly what kind of job and how long it took to get "semi-fixed."

Well almost, boat is home, but gas line was a tad to short for the new jp,somehow power was lost to fuel pump hooked to key switch or it just went bad no worries have a second in the boat, and figgure they disconnected something while working and didnt know it as nothing repeat nothing on the dash works ,not rpm,no psi,no tilt and trim, just have to trace out where the problem is.

And before anyone chimes in and says you should have made them fix that,I didnt want my ride around there another month, and theirs always problems when they are worked on,generally less if done yourself but still problems.

A final few words yippie yahoo, lookout im coming thru-Soon
