Well under a front currently but by fri and sat 70 again, then another front getting over that sometime middle of the week, beyond that who knows.
Bring suitable cloths and rain gear.
Current lake level is 354.86 temp in 40s ,but can climb swiftly several deg a day.
Main lake points and secondary in the coves, shallow rocky ones, with suspending pointer jerkbaits, dark colored or chart or gold sides or even clown, best overall is just dark for me.
They seemingly avoid those with white or very light sides or bellies.
Some stain 1 ft vis.

Gators is fun fishin'… The first time I took my son to Florida, the guide snagged a large gator and let Jim play it for a while until it popped loose. The gator came up close to the boat, Jim tossed a Zara Spook near it and it lunched the spook! Game ON!! I honestly couldn't tell you how big the gator was, but I do know that it towed three adults in a 20 foot bassboat upstream on the Kissimmee River when I hooked it on my spinnerbait.
I've been to Florida three times since and two of the times I've had gators on the line. The last time was a seven footer that I got up to the boat during a tournament. I caught that one on a Zoom Fluke and 50 pound PowerPro.

The term "Global Warming" is sooooooo 90's…. The PC term now is "Climate Change"…. that way all the bases are covered…. Melt down or ice age.
Speakin' of gators…. I saw some verrrry big lizzards this weekend. One in particular… I was fishing down a bank towards a point with flooded brush. Wasn't in any hurry to get there but figured I'd catch something there. As I got almost within casting distance this BIG gator started swimmin' in on that point. I figure he was amin' to climb up on the bank there and grab a few rays. Well… I'm thinkin' "NOT". So I start hollerin' at that livin' breathin' piece of shoe leather. Told him to get is tooth infested belt bearin' body off'a my point and to do it now! Well… he did. He swam around the point and moved in on the bank about 50 yards from the point. Nahh…. didn't get even a hit nor a tap on that point.

Doug your normally ahead of us lol like 400 miles south, there are advantages to living here we dont have to learn espanol,no gators (other than walley)few large rattlers(pygmy and timber in heavy woods in central tn),no tarantuillas and no scorpions.
About the only critter I can think we share is the 9 banded armadillo.
It is normally quite warmer like shirt sleve weather,we had a week of that t shirt weather about three weeks ago didnt stay, again global warming.
Shouldnt be long even with global warming,as for the dampness and coolness thats just this time of year slightly cooler but not a lot avg h temp march 58f.
The Tennessee River watershed has one of the highest annual rainfall totals of any watershed in the United States, with an average of 51 inches of rain a year.
Warm spells over 70 normally, those have been in short supply this year.

Yeah, it sure does this year. Everyone keeps telling me that it never gets this cold for so long down here. I guess it's just global warming! Sigh….

Well I can say for sure it was a blessin' to be fishin' in shorts this last time out. At the end of the day water temps in the low 70's and air temps in the upper 70's. Realized I really can cast a bait if I don't have on 14 layers of clothes and the hot sauce lube is oil instead of grease! Looks like we're just about a month ahead of you'uns!

Now all that's needed is some warm days to get out! I'm tired of cold, clammy and damp!

Water temp went from 43 f to 49 f in a weeks time, now in a or under a frontal condition the lake still is climbing but a tad slower over 50 f main lake, end of the week is tad warmer and will start climbing steadily again, somewhat due to the warm spring rains.
I can see high 50s by the latter part of the month
