Forum | Went out yesterday

With Dave Stewart, a bass guide here on Kentucky Lake.  Dave is a "Ledge Specialist" for bass in the area and I figured if I was going to learn, I'd learn from one of the best.

It was hot when I met Dave at the dock in Kentucky Lake Marina and as we motored out of the marina he told me that the lake had come up three degrees just since yesterday.  A quick check of his locator showed the surface water temps had almost reached 93 degrees!  It was like bathwater….

We fished a couple different ledges and we each caught keeper bass from these locations.  But Dave's was bigger, a nice 4.5 – 5 pounder, where mine might have gone 2.5.  But these fish were fat and sassy, in excellent shape.

We ended up calling it a day about 4:00, and by then we were all miserably hot, sweaty and tired.
