Well, after seeing the weigh-in today, we definitely need to start working deeper water!

I might also add that those first jumps n the main lake say in july dont last long, very sparodic, and those we ran into did it for what over an hr moving around but same general area.

After some thought, have figgured some of it out, fish normally just afer spawn protect the fry then few weeks later eat them and there are quite a few buck bass on that pattern. The water warmed and now actual summer patterns emerging, thus why the schoolers are in the backs of bays not main lake, they just havnt actually moved out yet.

The pattern of them eating fry is well known yet have never seen them school up and do it,in the backs of the bays ,normally late june they show up on the main lake or first of july in jumps not the back ends first of june.
Unwilling to hit either top water or even a spinnerbait, yet hit the dbbb, flukes ,worms anything just under the surface, with the exception of swimbaits and cranks alog with spinnerbaits.
my lil swimbait is sleek and runs about the same depth as a fluke notakers even in boils, unweighted worms ,senkos and normal along with the flukes, top contenders must be their ability to slowly sink, havnt a clue otherwise.Does however make sence as the dbbb is run or run slower than a normal spinnerbait due to its lift.Guess I need the floater swimbait, then run just under.

Another test lately at the beaver pond state park area, had me getting a few swats at a rage craw fished on top,but not a horney toad, killing the craw afterward was the key.Possibly downsizing on the floating stuff dunno.

Yeah, I found it odd that there weren't fish on that particular point.  More often than not, I've caught fish on that point, but I guess we weren't using the right lures.

One thing I have learned about fishing is that the fish don't care what you "think" they should be eating.  They'll strike what they want to strike and don't give a darn about what you think at all!  They're cruel that way…  Wink

Well I was fortunate to have a friend say lets go fishing,a main lake point we have always had luck on was devoid, the bridge produced some fish and a keeper or two but very hard on the person on the front end,as current ,wind and rollers all took a toll.

In general flukes, unweighted senkos and or worms worked best, and out best spot turned out to in the back end of a cove next to fat daddys.Mostly small scoolers back there but quite plentifull, and one liked the dbbb quite well, yes another that aint right bass.

And no you coulndt buy a bite on any topwater plug or buzzbait yet it worked.

Here it is barely june and schoolers lol going to be a banner year.

On the downside the high water will put main lake grass behind just like last year.

The fish however are apparently already in a summer pattern.
