I'm sorry to see that this was done by "professional" hunters.  Some of the shots were "less" than lethal shots, and done at angles that I would never dream of attempting.

Well, even though this is an old topic, and after watching Chris' vid on Youtube, I found a few more of interest.

Some good, bad, and just downright ugly shots in this video~

I was 20 yards away at the closest…He was 30 yards away when he walked right into my scent.  I had to pass on him because I was hunting in an Earn a Buck area and needed to shoot that doe…she never got close enough because he was wise enough to get spooked.

Chris, I'm kind of late watching the video, but was that buck alarmed?  Seemed like it watching the video, and the doe at the end had her ears perky and alert as well, like the buck communicated as he pass by her back up the trail.  How far were you from these to potential dinner entrees? Laugh

The echo of a child's laugher in the outdoors falls upon God's ears, making Him smile~

I have been hunting just about every day, but had to take a few days off to go fishing. I sat the other day for 6 hours in 6 deg weather with 9 does and fawns seen. The other night i was just getting ready to clime out of the stand when I had a big 12 show up. He stayed for a hour. I should see him but was not going to shoot at him with out knowing where to aim. Most of the deer are showing up after dark to the bait and are not moving much. allot of big bucks showing up but still all at night.  I sat this morning with 2 fawns  and 3 small bucks showing themselves 2 hours after light. That's all I have for you now.

LOL, bagging a Booner buck on public land is much easier than getting a tv show!  Getting that buck is a lot less work and much more fun too!

You did get some nice footage of him, are you still late season hunting and have you seen him anymore?

Sure does….But, look out Steve, it's now in my veins…you might have some competition some day.  All I need to do is shoot a Booner and then I'll have my own deer hunting show.

I'm still kind of stuck without a decent place to hunt where I can do it without interfering with someone else's hunt.  Which really sucks because I do want to hunt, but not at the expense of screwing up another hunter.  :(

Gunner's probably still out there sitting in a tree…..

The footage is fine.  Once a video camera is zoomed beyond half-way, holding the image steady is tough.  It does give you a greater appreciation for the guys on TV, doesn't it?  :)

So, are any of you guys going out yet this year or have you had it with the deer population.  I still have visions of the buck I saw on opening day…I haven't seen him since.  I have my EAB tag.  It transfers over to next year…maybe if I can find the time to get out this weekend…we'll see.

For those new to the site who didn't see the video I posted on the old site.

Here ya go…sorry about the shakey footage.
